Communicating online is my bread and butter (work) and coffee and water (life).
At home there’s all the social media which, I’m embarrassed to say, I’ve gotten a bit addicted to since the holidays. I now resolve not to check them first thing in the morning. I should just limit myself to my emails as I take my morning coffee.
Then of course at work, online communications fill my day, in all their glorious fury and species. I love/hate them all, as we all do.
There used to be a time in my life when day-to-day online communication wasn’t a thing, though. In high school, in a coastal town in Mindanao island, going “online” meant I should travel for 20 minutes to the nearest city and log into my Yahoo! account at an “Internet cafe”. It was a luxurious thing to “go online” and “surf” the Internet.
How the times have changed.
