Peace.
And I don’t just mean the absence of war, but inner contentment: bliss.
The thing about peace, though, is that it is fragile. You’ll get it one moment and it’s gone the next. All because of the inconstancy of life. Time passes; the world changes; we change.
The key is to have a practice of grounding ourselves in peace. When we notice that we’re no longer at peace, we go back to our practice, whatever it may be — meditation, prayer, deep breaths, painting, knitting — and soon we would find ourselves becoming spiritually still.
Peace is possible. It’s a gift we can give ourselves everyday many times.
