The most helpful productivity trick I learned is the exact opposite of productivity: the nap.
As a morning person, my creativity and energy are at their peak in the morning. Then they rapidly plummet after lunch.
So instead of fighting the afternoon drowse (therefore being less productive than I would like), I give in and take a 20-30-minute siesta.
It’s life changing.
When my nap alarm goes off, I wake up feeling refreshed — ALWAYS — just like I did in the morning. I hum hi-ho; work zooms by in a buzz.
Because really, there’s no need to beat yourself up for being scattered-brained after a long morning. Recharge, and you’d be the afternoon’s conqueror.
